RANDY L. FROKJER has been a partner since joining the firm in the spring of 1988. He received a B.S. degree from the University of WI-Madison and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah, College of Law. Attorney Frokjer attended both the University of Wisconsin Law School and the University of Utah College of Law.
He is listed in the Who’s Who in American Law. Attorney Frokjer has also been selected as a Leading Wisconsin Attorney by America’s Most Respected Legal Counsel as Selected by Their Peers. Fewer than 6% of the attorneys licensed to practice in Wisconsin have been selected by their peers as Leading Wisconsin Attorneys. He is a Certified Civil Trial Lawyer through the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Attorney Frokjer has practiced in Merrill since 1988. Previously, he practiced in Wausau for approximately 2 years. Attorney Frokjer is married with one daughter. He has prior experience in financial services & as a biologist for the Canadian Fish & Wildlife Service. Attorney Frokjer played football for the Wisconsin Badgers from 1972 through 1974.
Attorney Frokjer served as president, vice-president and secretary/treasurer for the Lincoln County Bar Association. Through the Bar Association Frokjer has helped sponsor and organize continuing legal education courses in the Lincoln County Area. He has taught in the local high school under the Junior Achievement Program.
Attorney Frokjer is a member of the American Bar Association, Wisconsin Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
He has conducted numerous seminars for the community at large. He has also donated legal services to charitable organizations in the Merrill area. Attorney Frokjer has been recognized by the Wisconsin State Bar for outstanding service to the local community.
Attorney Frokjer represents a number of townships in Central & Northern Wisconsin. He has dealt extensively with the growth problems urban towns face.
His areas of concentration include personal injury, products liability, real estate, business, estate planning, and town law.
GERALD J. HERSIL is a 1995 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School where he received his Juris Doctorate and a 1991 graduate of the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Pre-Law. While in law school he worked in the Governor’s Office as a legal assistant and the coordinator of the Governor’s Board of Pardons and Extraditions.
Attorney Hersil has been practicing law in Merrill since 2001. Attorney Hersil began practicing law in Dodge County after graduation from law school and worked in private practice for six years before coming to Merrill. Attorney Hersil has appeared on cases in both Federal District Courts in Wisconsin and has represented clients in counties all across Wisconsin.
Attorney Hersil is an active and involved member of the community. He donates much of his time to Boy Scouts working with Troop 599 in Merrill as an Assistant Scoutmaster. In 2011 Gerald organized and started the Troop 599’s primary fundraiser, the “Haunted Sawmill”, an annual haunted house event which draws thousands of people to Merrill. This fundraiser helps Scouts and their families defray the costs of scouting as well as help to pay for their participation in summer camp and high adventure trips. He is also involved in many other areas of scouting. Attorney Hersil has led many trips to the Boundary Waters out of Ely, MN, helping scouts put the skills they have learned into actual practice in the wilderness. In 2011, he was honored by Samoset Council for being the Rookie Boy Scout Leader of the Year.
Attorney Hersil has been involved in many other service clubs and organizations. He has been the President of Kiwanis and the National Exchange Club, and enjoys donating his time and service to helping the community. This commitment and dedication extends to his clients and all aspects of their individual cases. Attorney Hersil has also been recognized for his strong support and advocacy on behalf of his clients by H.A.V.E.N.
His primary areas of practice focus on all aspects of family law including divorce, custody matters, child support and adoption. He also works on criminal defense matters, civil litigation, foreclosures and many other areas of the law.
ANDREW R. POLZIN is a Rhinelander native. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota, School of Law, in 2014. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse with a Bachelor of Science degree in philosophy and English rhetoric in 2009.
Attorney Polzin is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives; the Wisconsin Association of Worker's Compensation Attorneys; State Bar of Wisconsin Solo, Small Firm, and General Practice section; State Bar of Wisconsin Young Lawyer Division; and is currently serving as President of the Lincoln County Bar Association.
Attorney Polzin's areas of concentration include worker's compensation, Social Security Disability, estate planning, and real estate.
WILLIAM A. WULF retired in 2016. He commenced practicing law in 1971 and joined the firm in 1983. Attorney Wulf is a graduate of UW Madison and obtained his Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School.
(1923-2005), who founded the law firm, commenced practicing law in Merrill in 1949. He completed both his undergraduate and legal education at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Attorney Frokjer is a Civil Trial Specialist attorney certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Approximately 160 Wisconsin Lawyers out of 22,000 have this designation. This certification is recognized by the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American Bar Association.
